Proposed reading program in Tuburan, Cebu. SMART, Sun.Star Cebu and Tsinelas visited the Colonia Central School in Tuburan, Cebu last Jan. 26 to conduct ocular survey of the school and discuss with faculty plans to implement a reading program for the kids there. The school also received copies of Matod Pa sa Lola ni Noy Kulas, a book of Cebuano folklore produced by SMART, Sun.Star Superbalita and UP-Cebu.

The planned reading program for Colonia Central School is a joint project of SMART, Sun.Star Cebu and Tsinelas.

Atty. Jane Paredes (senior manager for public relations VisMin), Michelle So (Sun.Star executive editor) and Lorenzo Niñal (Tsinelas executive director) met with with the school management during the visit.

Tuburan is a 2nd class municipality in the province of Cebu, Philippines. According to a 2007 census, it has a population of 53,663 people.

The town is located in the northern part of Cebu Province and is approximately 96.7 kms from Cebu City.
